Where across the course of your day today, could you consider where it might be that rejection is not a full stop, but a request for clarity?
I watched the Golden Globes the other night. I have always enjoyed acceptance speeches, because they often reveal the struggles that the winners had to go through.
Losers choose that they don’t have to go through the struggle and so they never win, because of that attitude.
A young woman stood on the Golden Globes stage and said something that struck a timely chord.
“Rejection is redirection, and so never give up.”
Most people experience rejection as a verdict.
A closed door and judgement on their worth.
But rejection is rarely that clean.
More often, it is feedback without explanation, delivered without context, and sometimes without even the courtesy of a response.
Rejection can stall you in your tracks when you are left guessing. When there is no reason given, no closing of the loop, no human acknowledgement that time, effort, and hope were invested.
